Youth safety
Safety Comes First.
This service may work with minors. These principles shape every part of how it runs.
Parent/Guardian Consent
Verified parent or legal guardian consent is required before paid 1-on-1 mentorship with a minor, where required by applicable law and our policies.
Parent Booking
For minors, the parent/guardian is the account holder and purchaser unless legal review establishes another appropriate process.
No Off-Platform Private Communication
Communication with minors happens only through approved business communication and scheduling systems. No personal phone numbers, private social-media accounts, or personal channels.
Clear Boundaries
The mentor follows a written code of conduct covering appropriate communication, confidentiality limits, mandatory reporting obligations where applicable, and boundaries.
Video Sessions
Sessions use an established video platform with appropriate safeguards for sessions involving minors.
Records & Privacy
Sessions are never recorded, and no video or audio files are kept. Only brief scheduling notes exist, stored securely and never displayed publicly. We collect the minimum personal information necessary.
Parents Are Welcome Nearby
A parent or guardian is always welcome to sit in on a session, join the call, or be in the room — especially at the start. Many teens prefer privacy once they're comfortable, and that's their choice to make.
Emergency Situations
Mentorship is not an emergency service. If someone is in danger, contact emergency services immediately.
In an emergency, don't wait for a session.
If a young person is in immediate danger or experiencing a mental-health or other emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department. In Canada you can also call or text 9-8-8 (Suicide Crisis Helpline) or reach Kids Help Phone at 1-800-668-6868 or by texting 686868.
Final safeguarding, privacy, consent, record-retention, mandatory-reporting, and youth-protection policies must be reviewed by qualified Canadian legal/privacy professionals before launch.
